What is a desirable pattern for Ochiba Shigure?

I've searched and searched but cant find any info... I looked here https://www.koiphen.com/forums/showthread.php?t=21944 but it does not say what is desirable?

I picked up my Ochiba about 2 years ago,.. at 6", it is now at 16-18", The pattern is supposed to be "autumn leaves falling on water" well my koi looks more like Autumn leaves at the bottom of the pond

I really like my Ochiba but just curious what the patterning should be?

That article is about show standards and judging. To some this IS desirable. Otherwise its just like art...a matter of taste.

Personally I like to see a pattern like you would look for on kohaku. There should also be a good vignette. I once saw an ochiba shigure with an almost black outline all the way around the brown markings and it was absolutely stunning.

Look's like you have a lack of pattern on the koi , but the netting on the fish look's nice .

I already feel sorry for the poor sap that get ripped off on that one.

But you know cyberious, what your's lacks on back pattern, makes it unique, kind of an asagi pattern in ochiba colors.

Is it difficult for you to get pictures? It's hard to tell what the pattern is.

I'd have to net him again to take pictures, plus my phone is my camera and I don't have a real bowl yet.

Mine is definitely not the Kujaku style pattern that I see as more desirable myself.

Not sure I understand what you mean?! Did you mean to say Kohaku(?) or Kujaku(?).

Yes, by definition, the original name was given and means Autumn leaves on the water/ground. But as this variety has developed, there seems to be a stronger attempt at trying to attain a Kohaku patterning. If I'm not mistaken, they have even mixed Kohaku blood to attempt to improve(?) the piebold patterning to be more Kohaku-esque. Personally, I like the original representation better myself!
