Looks good! what do you have for filtration... pictures there too???

Got your heron guard ideas in place yet? That shallow area is going to be a beacon for them to come dine...

Yep, that person gave you the right advice!
Big from the start!!! I can't wait to see pics of the
      finished pond!!
Depending on how long the pond has been filled, you're
probably going through "new pond syndrome". The water is
"turning over" and will straighten itself up if this is indeed
      a new pond.
Welcome and keep the pics coming!!

I noticed in picture you have a couple of concrete blok holding down liner. I did the same when I was building . It rained a couple of times and the drainaige of the blocks made the PH go high off the scale . Had to do almost total water change to get back to safe levels.Just a thought. B-man

Thank for the info BAKA my ph was jumping up and down like crazy, as for filtration i have a Bio tec 10 with a Biosys OP-300 skimmer and a Sequence Valueflow pump. I am needing something for the Deep side of the pond I dont think I have enough filtration there. So I am building a stream and water fall by the section were my dog is at. As for the heron my dog is my guard but i have a decoy just in case but my dog love to play with it bad dog bad. More Pics to come.

djack - I think block constantly in the pond is ok. I have block under the water lily pots. They get coated with algae and stop leaching.

I had a couple blocks in my inside pond to support a plant basket, in a bad attempt to save the plants from our Michigan Winter.

Now I have 2 fish with infected scratch wounds in QT from the blocks. The plants are back out to fend for themselves in the outside water feature, and the blocks are over the hill where they belong.

Did my first ever injection of Baytril today. Vet is very interested in learning along with me on this. Glad it's a pond pup instead of $$$. Well worth the expense of meds for the learning experience.

Nice looking pond keep up the great job. We just put in our pond this summer we still have alot of work to do still but it is a never ending job. Ernest my sweetie had knee surgery so things are at a stand still. We still have landscaping to do and ernest wants to make pond a bit higher from the ground so when I mow the lawn the grass clipings wouldn't get in pond.

Nice pond. I agree it's best to go big right off the bat. Lots more room for your fish and plants that way. Can't wait to see it finished and landscaped.
