I just use this one. Doesn't do temp so in the morning when it is cold I get a little higher reading. I'm at 109 in the morning and 104 in evening. Just put ro on friends pond and starting at 450 TDs on his. My goal is to get to 80 or maybe 60.

      Here we go

I found the one Steve gave me
      Tank tested 485
RO 44 /1:1 ratio donít want to waste too much water but that will end up for good use

Iím gonna try to remove 50 gallons a day and add slowly for now

That is about what I expected from your TDs. Going to be a very slow process my friend. Get that TDs down and you will see improvements in skin quality and beni. My tank is 50 degrees this morning and all the fish all active. They got some growth food and oranges for fun.

Edit. I have my clean water coming in after the outlet of the shower. Figured clean water directly into pond is best. My intake for my ro is in the bottom of my shower tote. Any lost water gets replaced with a splitter that my tap water feeds. Now i dont even have to do anything on my tank.

Nope I'm the rookie. Tuyen is the maker and the master. I'm just learning from him.

He has been driving an hour and half to come look at my fish. Definitely has seen an improvement for sure.

Here are some pics from this morning. 50 degree water

Kevin is away, so I cover for him. I read what you have done. Cool, you are on the right track. Your koi should benefit from that.

Kevin's system (the MaSuRO) is slightly different. Each week, it purifies 50% of his pond - returning 45% as clean RO water and reject 5% (hardness and fish waste: ammonia, nitrite, nitrates, phosphate, etc.). Another way to look at is that it swaps 50% old, dirty water with [almost] pure water, and rejects just a tad of highly concentrated brine. Therefore, Kevin only need to add a tiny bit of tap water to the pond. Few people can afford 50% new water (water change) per week, especially in California!

Connect two RO membrane units in series to increase efficiency. You can almost double the output.

Right now Iím pretty happy with the 150gpd unit
I just drained 150gallons out this evening and should expect it to go back to regular level
Within 15-24 hours slowly but surely
Yes for a bigger tank or pond then the speed should be faster like 300gpd
I ainít doing this for main pond no no

Yes, I'm Tuyen. I think your koi will be better. Thinking about how much water you waste to produce a gallon of low TDS water, I can't help but feel "ouch"...But no pain, no gain

Koi love low level of dissolved solids (the DS in TDS) because it's built in their genes. Most Japanese mud ponds have very low TDS and koi have been naturally selected (survival of the fittest) to thrive in that environment. All of a sudden, they are in our home and are forced to live in water pulling up from aquifers - loaded with dissolved minerals. Yes, they can live but not in their best health. It shows in their behaviors and in their skin condition.
