Iíve been to a couple of website and it seems to me that champkoi.com has the best selection of high quality koi fish in the internet? Are there any other websit me that even comes close to the quality?

      Thanks.

Back in my day Kevin Pham had access to some fabulous fish. Honestly, I don't know how much he is still in the game but from my personal experiences he had my trust!

Sorry, I don't know his website but I think it is Genki Koi?

I get all my koi from genki and a1. I visited champ and picked up my showa at Kevin's place. My last goshiki is really nice and was a good price.

Champ has nice koi also. Here are some of champs from t NJ is weekend.

Champion Nishikigoi is not Genki Koi (Kevin).

I do not know of ONE Best Place to Purchase Koi. Both of the above have provided Koi show winning Koi.

if you are talking about internet selection, then yes, i think champ is one of the few that updates their inventory online with high and low dollar fish.
most other websites just list their expensive stuff. and don't update often.

If winning a Koi show award is important... buy any decent Bekko and enter it in a show.

I don’t know if they still practice this, but years ago once you’ve established yourself with a noted seller (let’s say Genki Koi for example), they’re more inclined to hand-pick a fish you want when they go on buying trips. Again, some used to do this when you developed a relationship, I don’t know if all did, or still do.

I wouldn't call any 1 dealer the best. The quality they get is based on their relationship with the breeders, which is also based on how much business they give the breeders... obviously no one dealer can have the best relationship with all the breeders, which is why for instance, champ has a very good relationship with Ogata, Genki has a good relationship with momotaro, and PS koi has a great relationship with INC (MATSUNOSUKE line). They all have relationships with other breeders and some are great, otheres are just good... I suspect some have kicked each dealer to the curb having been insulted in some way that was not obvious. So it all depends on what type of Koi you are looking to add to your pond... but you can certainly choose any of those dealers and get very good quality fish of all varieties, especially if you get them to look for something specific on a buying trip.

I think building a relationship with a dealer would be the way to purchase high quality koi. having a dealer know what you're looking for prior to them taking a trip to Japan would be the way to get what you're looking for. What's on the web sight is just the tip of the iceberg as far as what is available to the customer. Shawn at Mystic koi has been my go to for my purchases. But the other's mentioned above I've meet and they all are stand up guys that i wouldn't hesitate buying koi from.

Why resort to buying online when you can go to Andrew's Koi International, Mystic Koi, Inland Koi in an hour or two?

Tom Lai of Champion Nishikigoi brought in over 400 koi from the recent nisai(2-year old) buying trip. All are listed on the website. I believe they start at $400, all the way up to $8,000. Tosai(under 1-year) will be constantly updated in the Spring & Summer and they will be $60-400 with the exception of some jumbo tosai close to $1,000. The only fish not listed on their website are the 4/$100 ones and a few that Tom likes to grow out for fun.

Kevin Pham of Genki Koi has a new website and all the fish(still for sale at the store) that were listed on the previous site aren't listed on the new one. He updates a lot on the store's Facebook page and can be easily reached there.

And check out Sacramento Koi, famous for their Advantage Bead Filters. They're sales are driven by their filtration systems & pond building contracts so they don't really have to sell Koi year-round. However they have very nice nisai available for a bargain in the Fall. All the new fish(about 200 pieces) are currently listed on their website.

If you're on the east coast you can't do better if you want to be a a great mud pond.

After reading all the responses all repeat what I have said in the past folks on the West coast have something very special with their koi dealers and are very lucky to have such dedicated group of experts bringing koi in But my favorite is PSKOI.
