      Please evaluate this ogon koi

      Hello everyone, I am fairly new to koi and I was wondering if I could get your opinion on my koifish.

      Koi are meant to be judged from the top looking down. Can't see much except some uneven scales along the back.

      Here’s another picture (yes she is in a tank but I will be switching to a pond soon) I am aware she probably won’t be of very good quality (I got her at petsmart) but I’m curious to know how she compares.

      Welcome to Koiphen! If there were an All-PetSmart Koi Show, this one might have a shot at the title. If you give it plenty of water and food, it could grow to look pretty nice in the pond.

      How much you will like it in the future partly depends on your preferences (which will likely shift over time), budget, and the standards you set for your pond.

      I think it's just hard to say without a pic of the vent of the fish. Even then it can still
      be tough on a young one.

      Male or female I think we have to look at vents or closer to mating season males will have rough white dots on the fins and females will be full of eggs
