Thanks andrea. I just thought about that today. It is just one side and oddly not the side I found the fish high and dry on and covered with dirt. I've made a pp paste but never a tricide neo paste. I used it as a dip and really didn't like the results. Seems the fish was gasping for dear life. This is probably deeper than a spray would do on the tricide. I have debride and also bio bandage on hand. Other option is injections but i really have a feeling this fish has been through alot and the injections would either work or just push the koi over the edge. I fed lightly and all but this koi were quick to eat the food. At 70 degrees they are very active. I'm going to pickup the tricide neo tomorrow.
Going to get the tricide now. Do I need to seal the tricide neo up or will the paste stay on there itself? Also do I need to dry to area first before I apply it? Thanks for the advice
Sedate...use a qtip to rub on the good slime coat gently...dip in powder...create a paste and cover any affected areas. Wait 2-3 minutes, gently wipe off excess w/ a rag and return to water. Works like a charm.
I never use Tricide as a dip. Koivalley told me several years ago it's really hard on the koi's gills and he taught me how to use the product like this instead. Love it and it saves a lot of product.
Oh...dump out the amount you need on a separate surface. Don't dip directly into the package or it will all be ruined. Close up the package, put in a ziploc and store in the freezer.

There is a new formulation for Micro-lift Gel/Filter pad inoculant. It goes on thick and speeds up the nitrogen cycle. It will knock out the ammonia with in one week when used as directed. Immediately solves the new pond syndrome. I highly recommend this product, available on Amazon.
