      With thick black bands extending up from the bottom of the koi, wrapping around and substantial sumi on the head … definitely showa.

      Showa for sure. Seems the sumi is thick and the beni is fading. How big is the fish?

      Sumi on the pectoral fins wrapping back up to the body typicly means that the fish is a showa

      Sanke will commonly have some sumi on the fin to show that it is sanke but a sanke pectoral Sumi appears in small strips and does not cover the whole fin.
