Diy sieve and static k1 bakki shower filter

Here’s the filter I just finished putting together
      https://youtu.be/8MIe4piNOPo
Hopefully tomorrow I’ll have time to install it and test the filter out.
Top layer of bakki shower is the sieve 250 micron
Second and third layer is filled with static k1 media then drains into pond

The latest Update on the bakki Shower

It will be interesting to see results and feedback after your filter system has been running 3 - 6 months.

Part 2 the filter is installed and running sieve is working great and so much easier to clean. I just pick up the sieve and rinse it with water then Tadaa it’s clean

I think you will have to clean that screen very regularly and it will be a pain once algae build on it
      Try this perhaps
I flow around 1800-2200gph and sprayed twice a day morning/evening

Grey matala would be a option also. This time of year Tony is better off but in summer and heavy feeding the sieve and even the matala is going to get blocked very quick. I've been there and done that.

I wonder if you make a frame for the screen, and let is seat at an angle, and spray water at the top.. This allow the water to push the dirty stuff down so less clogging... You will need to get something at the bottom of the frame to catch the dirty stuff.. Just like how the actual sieve is built..

Yes I can do that I have k1 on the bottom of the sieve so I can just push the k1 to some side. I’ll try it out thanks

      Just a thought:

I think it would be beneficial to nuke the K1 with a relatively concentrated PP soak.
This will burn off whatever release compounds that the manufacturers use in the extrusion forming process, and also etch the plastic, making it easier for bio organisms to adhere to the surface.

Looks good. You might build a frame for the screen and it probably would keep debris from
going over the open edge of the screen too.

Yes I’ll probably get some 1x1 wood and frame it
