Hi there,

Upon moving house, I inherited koi fish - never had any fish before. My white butterfly koi appears to be stressed or sick (according to google / koi shop).

Details:

- White koi and within 2 days, his tail fin turned purple and he continues to isolate himself from the other fish in a quiet spot in the pond and lay on the bottom. After resting, joins the other fish and then back to resting spot.
- Pond is 8sqm
- Found out that the fish were being fed 3 times a week by the Real Estate Agent

What changed:
- 3 weeks ago, on inheriting the fish, I started feeding the fish twice per day
- Water in pond was low so I added approximately 3 inches of water about 4 days ago
- Using testing kit, all levels within the range on kit
- 2 smaller koi introduced to the pond

Acting on advice from Koi shop:
- Added water treatment to reduce ammonia levels in the pool
- Water re-tested to normal range
- Stopped feeding the Koi for a couple of days
- Add treatment for bacteria

What I have noticed:
- the tail has lightened a little (more red/pink than purple).
- He is still isolating himself every ten mins or so in a quiet spot before joining the rest of the fish. Looks very sick & often I think he might be dead.
- Still appears to want food (when he is swimming, comes to where I am waiting for food)
- He has a white bump on his tail fin

I really appreciate your advice.
