      TDS 3 Water testers

What would be considered a good water test reading out of the average US faucet/ tap?

Anything hundred a hundred is super. My oregon deep well water ran 60 ppm. Super good for the fish, (and coffee) but no PH buffering. So I maintained PH by doing a constant flow through water change.

      My tap water reads +-152ppm

My pond water reads +-287 ppm

Would that be a reasonable reading for a koi pond?

I've just got a little cheap TDS digital meter. My well water out of the tap reads 71.
My lower pond with the RDF and shower reads 56.

That's actually really high TDS in the pond for your tap source. My pond is actually lower in TDs then my source water. Around 80 is just about perfect.

Bear in mind, I live in DARKEST AFRICA.

I am surprised we still receive clear water out the tap.

In +- 24 years of Democracy, we have managed to reach 1/3 world status.

After 4 or 5 weeks from China, and 3 months holdup by the local postal service, I have just received my $2.50 TDS 3 water tester.

Now it's time to compare the waters and receive feedback, thank you, Kevin.

      Garfield.

PS. 3 electrical hand-held meters ordered from eBay via China in March have not made it.

The parcels probably felt like mobile phones if given a little squeeze.
