      Ochiba turning white update :(

It started with just a line, which became an odd white ring... and now this.
Ive been doing water changes, I had a KH crash, but no PH, and was able to add baking soda which now has me around 200KH, 180 GH, and a PH of 7.8 which holds steady. Everything else is 0 and 500 - 1000 gal of water changes weekly for the past month after a 75% water change to start with.

Link to my original thread and its update:

Anyone have any ideas what is happening? Its acting totally normal still. Still has a really healthy slime coat. Its eating and active. WTH?

Unless I'm missing something, looks perfectly healthy to me. You are seeing a color change. Koi do that and it's pretty mind-blowing how significant the change can be!

I agree with Andrea that it is a color change. Unstable genetics and time are turning this fish more towards a shiro muji. It probably will not go all white, but will likely be left with some speckles.

Been there! I've had one of my fish for 14 years and two years ago he developed orange spots all over. He is now orange and black polka dotted. Guess he was having a midlife crisis and decided to make a change. lol
