      What is this koi?

I am on vacation and the resort has a giant koi pond. Most of the koi i know and i have seen before. However this koi is very unique to me. Its royal blue spots over white. I have not seen this color blue on any koi before. What type is it? Name: 20180901_132127.jpg

It makes me think of a pond grade Asagi. They tend to be darker in their color and spotty like that. It would also lose the beni over time explaining the lack of it. I am basing most of this guess on where the scales start at the head of the fish in the "shoulder" region.

Thats really interesting... I think its a matsubakawabake.... the scaled version of a kumonryu. That's a beefy fish. Is photo 1 an accurate portrayal of the face shape? Because thats a bit funky.

You could be right. It is a pond grade regardless and who knows what it started as or what it will finish as. It becomes a bit of a crap shoot in guessing at times.
