      Dainichi Showa

Bought a few Dainichi Showa from a private dealer in Michigan. 12-15 inches. Born in 2017. Sex: unknown

I like the dark sumi even now and I know perhaps they will get only darker but body conformation is what I need to learn.
      Any comments?.

PS: By the way, can anyone here advise me how to take a photo?. I use my phone but the problem is the lighting and also
getting the koi into the 6 o clock position.

I’m also from Michigan, I also have a few dainichi showas, that are tosai this year. What is the size of this one? If you get a chance post a video, easier to see this way.

I happen to like strong dark sumi on young koi. At least i know it will be there when the koi is older.. I don't understand the mindset of buying a koi with light sumi and "hoping" it comes in 2 or 3 years from now.. I guess i don't have the patience or foresight for that.

      Calhoun,

They are 12-13 inches. They are a bargain for a Dainichi you know. I am not entering them in koi shows or anything so it's just wanting them to grow big and with solid Showa pattern. The tail tube is OK and general shape is decent.
