Color changed. Just poor quality fish?

Hi. I have 7 koi I just moved to larger pond, from 1000G to about 2000G. They are nesai from different sources. 2 started to lose color just before I moved them.

I have 2 shusui. one is fine, the other lost ALL of its orange/amber color.

1 halloween orange matsuba that is now a blotchy ki (no orange at all, still getting lighter), but my ki matsuba is still evenly deep gold.

Kohaku is still as red. Platinum is the same. Karasugoi is same jet black with gray/blue tint. All the white base is just white as before.

Water is same as before. Temp 78-79F. 0 ammonia, 0 nitrite, 30-40 nitrate, 8.2ph, around 200 kh and gh on drop test kit. Weekly 20-25% water change.

Same food. Same bead filter system.

It's been 4 weeks since the move and they still swim and feed as normal. Are they just poor quality fish? Would some color come back? Thank you.

It's going to be impossible to say for sure. The things that control color are genetics and stress. Genetics are what you referred to and it's possible that they may be of poor quality. which resulted in the color failure. Stress encompasses too many things for us to say if that may have been the cause.
Stressors are water quality issues, illness/es, heat, trauma and so forth. Too many to list.

The beni color is not known to return though I would say there might be a chance with the Shusui.
Still learning as I go but y'all can call me Marilyn

I'll say something when I feel I have something worth saying. I'm not a fan of flapping my lips just because they are there.

Thank you, Marilyn. I thought they may be getting ready to spawn, but the two that are losing colors appear to be male fish; pointy, large triangular pectoral fins.
