So it's time to thin the herd. But I have such a hard time deciding which to let go! Every pond needs a yamabuki, every pond needs...... Anyone in CT need a few fish?

Excuse the look of my pond, I just installed a new liner and haven't been able to finish the edging.

sometimes it is just tough picking which ones go. I know I need to make some decisions too before the season is up.

Here are my criteria for cutting
      1. Male
      2. Big and create more waste
      3 deform
      4. Beni fading
      5. Un balance pattern
If any koi fall in most of the categories above send them

      Thanks for the guidance.

Haha, no offense, but yes, I have one goldfish. 5 or 6 years ago I had a complete die off of my koi, the reason is still a mystery to me. That **** goldfish survived. I was too broken hearted to buy more koi for a couple years. I neglected the pond, threw the goldfish some food occasionally and the thing just kept swimming around. The pond was so murky I could go for a few weeks without seeing it, only for it to pop up one day. So I completely agree with you, but that guy has earned a place in my pond. It is actually my wife's fish she had in a small "stock tank" pond. She still gives me a hard time that she's better at keeping fish alive than I am.

Look at the bright side of things. At least you acknowledge that your pond is overstocked and are doing something about it. Many just ignore it until the pond explodes with trouble and then ask for help on here. Thumbs up to you.
