      Peonies, recommendations please

As some of you may know, I am gardening in beautiful Indiana now. Peonies were always a plant I wanted to add to my garden but they really hate California but they LOVE Indiana. Heck, they are now my state flower. I'm going to dig up a small area that is currently lawn as a nice sized planting bed and peonies are first on my list.
I realize I will be planting in the fall but want to get going on my homework.

I'm looking for suggestions for some that are fragrant, good performers, and in the white, cream, , peach, pink (pale to deep) color tones.
Whatcha got and what do you recommend?

I don't know the hardiness of all of them but I really like "Bowl of Beauty".

      Hey Friend

I don't have any knowledge or recommendations but I was born and raised in the small town of Van Wert, Ohio. Not too far from you. It used to be called the "Peony Capital of the World". 50-60 years ago when I was a kid we always went to the fabulous parade. Just sharing https://www.vwpeonyfestival.com/

      Thank you gentlemen!
Stephen, what a great event! It would be a fun event to visit. I do love parades and look forward to seeing them again. I am so looking forward to a 4th of July with fireworks. Gotta love the midwest.

      Hi M

I also am a Peonies fan

My favorite have been the whites - particularly Mothers Choice and the Gardenia - which are both full flowers with fragrant blooms.
I had these in my former backyard - in full sun- planted with gravel at base of hole to insure good drainage. They do not like soggy.

I bought them from here. I amended them with pond filter waste and the flowers were bountiful. Any thoughts to get that RDF runoff into a runoff cistern with a sump? It would really be amazing for any garden

This fall I will be adding Peonies to my current backyard - a few at first - and then cloning off the best performers for next year.
I will post pics later here.

Love to see what you eventually go with
      Best of Luck
      George

      George, thank you!

I've bookmarked their site and will be shopping with them. Another thanks for the guidelines on planting. Soggy is something I never had to worry about in California but late winter and early spring here looked like we had mini lakes in the lawn. I'm really enjoying the fabulous thunderstorms we have.
I love plants with fragrance and have recollections of my grandmothers and great grandmother's having peonies. They were a must add (along with Clematis) for my garden here. I look forward to seeing what you add in the fall.
