      What is this wound?

Just noticed it on one of my Kohaku. It's a bit raised, and it feels like a scab, rough and a bit bumpy. Only fish to show any signs of anything right now. Water quality is spot on and have had no other issues recently.

You touched it? Out of water or in water? It almost looks like there may be some algae growing on it, so may be just a scrape or other injury from brushing up against something. If it is algae, it may be the beginning of a SAP infection, which you need to take care of right away. If you take the fish out, try to get a better picture of it, maybe scrape it off and look at it underneath a microscope if you have one. While the fish is out, put some iodine on it to help it heal.

Looks like an infected scale which means water quality can not be spot on. You will need to sedate the Koi and pull the scale for it to heal properly.
