Unhappy Bloating but no raised scales, photo included

      Hello Everyone,

I have a koi maybe 4 or 5 years old and it appears to be very bloated (the larger white with yellowish gold). I am not sure if it is male or female either so if you could help me identify what is wrong, that would be incredible. We thought it was sick so we have been adding salt to the pond. The fish tries to eat but ends up spitting out the food and its anus is protruding slightly. Once in a while, it will sit at the bottom of the pond but other times, it will swim with the others. Colouration is norm, no changes there.

You’re NEVER supposed to call a lady bloated. it looks like she is gravid to me. Maybe someone else will see something I don’t, but to me she looks fine. Just full of eggs

She is definitely full of eggs and will be involved with a spawn soon. The comment about spitting food could be an issue with parasites in the gills causing irritation, or it could be due to the type and age of the food, where dust will irritate the gills and cause spitting.
