      Stubborn eye infection

      Aloha,
      This is my first posting so please forgive me if I mess up.
      I have a big, beautiful Benigoi w/ single eye infection. The eye is cloudy-white and bulging. All other physical aspects are excellent including appetite and social behavior.
      Upfront, I know why this happened, poor water quality. I moved to Hawaii but it took several months to build the koi pond, in meantime I left my koi under someone else’s care. Fortunately they continued backwashing twice a week. Unfortunately, they stopped weekly water changes for approx 3 months. By the time I went back to move my koi, I discovered the nitrates were off the charts, probably had been for months. I had to almost fully empty and refill the pond 3 times before nitrates were in the 80 range 😣
      So that’s ‘why’ this happened.
      What I’m hoping for help w/ is treatment.
      Previously, I would have used Medicated food, which has always provided complete recovery from minor bacterial infections.
      But since the moratorium on medicated food, that wasn’t an option. So I tried a full round of Baytril injections. Nothing. The eye did not respond at all.
      I tried another injectable antibiotic regime. Still nothing.
      I don’t know what else to do for this beautiful friend. Can anyone help us?
      Mahalo🙏🏼
      Current water quality, and for last 6 weeks:
      pH = 7.5 - 8.0 (gradual am to pm)
      Kh = 107
      NH3 = 0
      NO3 =<20
      NO2 = 0
      Gh = 125
      PO3 = 1.0
      DO2 = 7-8 mg/L
      Salt = 0.05%
      TDS = 480
      ORP = 257

      Moving this thread to the Emergency Forum, where more health advice is available.

      Agree a picture would be very beneficial.
