This koi was too finished when you first picked it,and you are pushing it too fast. At least, you might end up with a nice shiro bekko instead of a shiro muji.

Do you mean the way you choose your fish ? I am newbie and I want to to raise big fish like you. One of Pro told me that I need to know how to pick a good fish and 50% based on my luck too. Even I have a Sakai $1K fish, it is not guarantee giant. Is that correct ?
By the way, I admire your skill and knowledge.

Thanks for the kind words ...make me blushed
There’re many great persons that we still have to learn from this hobby
If going against time when I first joined the forum I can tell you that we’re about the same level pretty much
I went through threads and threads tirelessly koi foods, growth, koi selections etcs
I started posting some of the first koi and keep updating annually for advices
I found this is one of the great way to learn from a bad purchase or a good deal if you can prove it overtime

My advices for you to grow bigger koi are
1 know your water qualities, keep water balance
2 know your system, give the best you can meaning over filtration and turnover
      3 qualities diet and supplements
Pretty much “husbandry” is a combination of good Koi keeping procedures here

I spent 1k on a koi and she no where near giant yet
But having the knowledge on selecting sounds like a win win situation

Picking koi is important start out with tosai and learn which I’m still doing
First looks for good skin quality then good body confirmation (big head tall shoulder thick tail tube) then last probably pattern which is also important because ya going to see that koi a year at least and if the pattern is too boring then sooner or later it will have to rehome

Emergency stickies in the emergency forum don’t miss that for new comers
Have fun koi keeping Caocon (is it babyfox translated?)

      Ps
If you need help advice on improving your pond and filtration do t hesitate open a thread and ask for advices
There’ll be helpful koipheners out there working voluntarily
