I dug a few up and put them in tubs in the garage, but I also left a lot in the planters outside all winter.
Honestly I didn't hold out much hope for either ones so I bought some hardy lilies from Frank and planted
them to see if I can actually see a flower. So far I haven't even seen a leaf from anything but it's still in the
      40's -50's range.

The lilies won't boom until the water and weather get warmer. Mine have not started blooming either.

I saved one out of four lotus pots from last year and just divided that back into three last week. Pretty sure it originated from seed growout two years ago.

Looked in the greenhouse covered pond 2 weeks ago and 6 of my 8 pots of Lotus made it through the winter. One did not survive last summer and I don't know where pot number 7 is. It may be in the corner of the green house. I will remove the cover by this weekend.

Today I could see a pink bloom through the plastic covering the greenhouse. They have not even been fertilized yet. I was quite surprised to see a bloom.

Those were from the seeds then? When did you harvest the seeds? My pods are getting bigger every day it seems but I don't know when to pull the seeds / cut the pod off. I assume when it goes brown?

Actually, just searched and found this older post on it... so I guess brown pod / round black seeds is the right time!

That's a 3 year old plant from the seeds Cindy provided. First year I wintered in the garage, second year I dropped into the pond a couple feet deep. I only saved one plant this time but successfully divided it into three. Well the third one is pretty weak but still alive. The second part has a couple buds on it, but will be another week probably before it blooms.

Here's my 4 year old lotus I grew from seed. It flowered last year, so I'm glad that wasn't a one time thing. Please excuse the ugly backyard

Edit: Not sure why the image is turned. Unsure how to fix this since the image is correct on my computer and phone...
