      One white pimple like spot on my koi' s tail

      So my koi has 1 white pimple like spot on his tail. He shows no sign of sickness such as scratching, darting, lethargy, gasping or anything. He is still eating fine as well. I noticed the spot tonight. He did not have this spot two days ago. I'm wondering if this could be the start of ich or bacterial infection of some sort. There are no red streaks or damage to his fins. All his scales look good. Just this one daunting white spot. Any ideas what this is?

      * the size and stocking density of your pond,

      120 gallon show tank......koi is very small .....yes we are going to build him a pond

      * the type of filtration you have,

      Canister filter that filters 265 gallon per hour

      * your maintenance routine, and

      * the last time you performed maintenance.

      I did a 25 % water change this week.....new aquarium just cycled so only one change has been done. I normally do my water changes in response to water parameters.

      * They also need to your water parameters, including the temperature.

      Temp is 74 degrees. Ammonia is between 0 and 0.2. Nitrite 0. Nitrate 5ppm. Ph 7.8.

      * The last time you added a new fish.

      He lives with 1 small Miranda which I added to the old tank about 2 months ago. The new tank has these two and some feeder fish.

      I was wondering what that is. Good job with your information.

      Either a little viral bump or an anchor worm. Do I see bumps on the side? If its viral and doesn't go away, you can sedate and scrape off, then a little peroxide, iodine and some denture powder. If it hatches into an anchor worm, you will need Dimlim

      Thanks! No I went and took another very close look at him and no other bumps on him just the one. I think that what is showing in the picture is reflection off of his scales? Not visible to the naked eye. How long should I wait to see if it gets better on its own. It's been about 1-2 days now since it formed. Will I be able to see the worm if it is. Also I have never sedated a fish before so I don't know how to or if I would be able to safely do that. The bump looks a little more raised today. Doesn't look like diameter is getting larger though.

      I did what yal said said and I scraped it off and treated..... There was a big pop when it came off his tail and it left a very small ulcer like crater in his tail. 🙁😭🙁 I am going to keep a very close eye on him and update on his condition if any change. Thank you both for the advice!

      Just checked him again after work and the white pimple spot is back! Same place not as big but almost. We scraped it off about 24 hours ago.
