But what do you do for light while they're indoors?

I did not start my seeds until the 10th. I had one sprout on the 13th. One of Cindy's Nelumbo Nucifera. I am missing one seed as it shot off into oblivion when I was outside grinding it.

I wish I had waited until later to start mine. I fear they will sprout and get large enough to be potted before the weather gets warm and stable here.

Maybe I can put them in the greenhouse that is covering my largest pond and it will keep them warm enough.

May is our planting. If they get too big I can put them in a small container and set them in a half barrel inside.

Luke. I have a package of seeds that somebody didn't participate if you want them. I can't send seedlings cos that would be cheating the ones that protected their seeds

I have 50 Pink "Nelumbo nucifera" seeds ordered, blooms first year. Matherfish has generously offered to donate some of his seeds.

I send out seeds, number you get depends on how many people want in. When we get our seeds, you nick, put in water and I'll give prizes to first arial leaf and first bloom.

We've done this for several years and it's neat to see how quickly they grow.

I would love to try. I’m really enjoying my new Koi & water garden pond.

      Thank you Sindee.
I must admit I was a little disappointed that I would not see the lotus leaves in the yard this year....the flowers are the least of it...I even like how the seed pods look several times more than the flowers.

I guess I'm going to have to find something to move several of these guys into as they're growing out of the
jar. Time to get creative I think since outside high temps are still in the 40's.

Wow Steve, mine are just breaking out of the shell.

Luke. I can send you some seeds. I wouldn't want to be called a cheater or useless.

Katt, pm me an address. I have 2 packs left. I'll send you and Luke seeds today and then I'm out of seeds.

Haha, I really don't have much updates really. This weekend I put my sprouted seeds in a little container with some dirt from my back yard and water. I have a large lotus tub I'm planning on putting some in but haven't had the chance yet.

It looks like 8 out of 10 of mine have sprouted and are in desperate need of potting! Will get on that in the next couple of days!

How many Lotus seedlings would you plant in one of those half plastic whiskey barrels from Lowe’s, I think it’s 19x12.
