Of course with media comes controversy. Some say the media has the water flow through it yay. Other media seems to crash over the media. Lol the crashing effect is what I want and will make another thread about this.

What I can say is these clear water displays are not correct. No fish to produce ammonia and even any biofilm built up. If you have used cermedia you might get my point. Open pores will clog buy look so good on display. Luckily i got a free sample of the new miracle media lol. It is a hardened version of the cermedia imo. I'm using Chinese ceramic media some from that Tom seaside guy and some from genki koi. Pretty much same sh!+ but works good.

In a shower setup we want large "oxygen" exchange. This gives the new bacteria a better place to grow. Pores and stuff can just encourage anaerobic bacteria in a bad way.

Look at momotarro media and how well does it flow though the media given the flow rate. My water literally bounces out of my shower but my oxygen eexchange is huge also

How long have you had to use and evaluate the new media?
Seems premature to make an evaluation and judge without actually using it.

A "Crashing" effect might not be what everyone is looking for but if it does plug, wouldn't
it provide more of that effect?

Kevin I cant believe you have said this based on picking up a sample just over 24 hours ago, Ive actually ordered a couple of cubic feet to replace the cermedia in my zakki shower.

Sure its not BHM, but its a good cost effective solution.

Perhaps. But this cermedia and my sample is very similar and I did use cermedia for awhile. Why wait for the media to trap waste and keep it there?

      Yes, foot in mouth again.

The new RIO ceramic media gives hobbyist another choice.

For those who like an open cell ceramic media... there is another choice.

TAAM, the makers of the RIO Storm Shower, is making a ceramic media which they feel addresses some of the complaints made about other ceramic media.

Made me laugh as I remembered I was in the same frame of mind late one night at Birdman's house and it's when I purchased my

I might say stupid stuff here and there on here but I'm pretty honest what i say. I had a great time and met many people. Troy was a Kentucky riot and i thanked him for judging online pics on here. As for the foot in my mouth fair enough. No harm to me lol.

The bowl with the Sanke Longfin was my tank #18. The Shiro Utsuri won Best In Size "B" category. Great show in San Diego

Congrats. I think I was talking to you about your longfin. I was wearing a black hat backwards and a black shirt with white element logo

Nothing wrong with the Zakki shower in my QT but it doesn’t beat the bling of the stainless
