3, now 4 tosai on tap

I've been following Russ's Japan show and koi hunting threads (maybe too closely ). My pond is still covered but we have something to look forward to. I had some help choosing one of these (Kohaku) from my older son. Torazo sanke, Murata Kohaku and an INC Tancho. (and a 4th Omosako SU at bottom of thread).

I'm looking, but the three kids all want to go to college (son soon) so I have a set budget
I am pleased with the selections within that budget, and appreciate you have koi for everyone no matter what their budget is.

What did you pick up? The sanke was the one that I didn't have to think twice on. I asked Russ for advice on the Kohaku and this was one of several he suggested, but my son liked this particular one. The tancho I threw in as I don't have one and hadn't seen one that nice for the price. There were a lot more I'd have liked to watch grow.

That's a valid suggestion, until you end up like me with a bunch of Tosai and Nisai with crazy potential lol. Unfortunately, I ruined both of my Sanke so now I have more room

Yeah at some point if all of your nisai are expensive you don't want to give them away. It's a lot easier when they are chupa.

All mine are cheap and I still have a hard time parting with them. My two oldest were $50 Dainichi tosai, but both are at 30" so hard to let them go when my largest cheap Koi from Russ is just hitting 20"

Your sanke is beautiful and your kohaku is very clean and has a great head shape. I picked up 5 because I have no self control lol. But I will say, i spent much less than i normally do. I got 3 ikarashi tosai for $200 and 2 Mukashi. With the quality they are all displaying, I am banking that at least 3 of the 5 will become Permanent residents.

Iím the guy the lost almost all of his fish to a mink last winter, also the one that figured it was time for a rebuild.

So this is why Iím purchasing so many tosai. Have a pond with pretty much no fish.
These are a few of the ones I got:

After you picked your sanke, Russ helped me decide on this one.

I really like the head pattern on this one.

I picked the other inc tancho.

I really liked the doitsu tosai!

These are my favorites, trying to get a nice variety of fish again.
