Well it is time to cross your fingers and hope the 1/8" thick walls of the holding tank will be strong enough for these forces To be honest I am a little apprehensive but hopeful. It is filling up now and hopefully I won't have to build one with thicker walls.

I will not be happy if I end up with 375 gallons of water in my warehouse (which is why I am filling it up by the bay door), but then again it would be Slip-N-Slide time!!!!!!

      We have success!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
There is only 1/16" deflection in the middle of the tank, but that could be due to the tank being slightly unlevel. I am going to leave it for a while to stress it and then once the show display is ready I can hook everything up and refill it and start some testing.

I don't think I would have even thought that would hold water

Nice job. Put a couple ratchet straps around the outside and put a slight tension on them after filling if you want a little insurance during testing.

You of little faith! This is the third straight walled holding tank that I have made but the first one using PVC. The other two were with 1/4" HDPE which is quite easy to bend into the oval when you weld the vertical seam like this...

PVC is a structural thermoplastic so it doesn't want to flex as easily as HDPE which is what makes it so good for a lot of my filtration designs that have flat walls. Using 1/8" thick PVC made it easy to weld that vertical seam, but I didn't know how it would react at the bottom especially after i broke that piece off and had to weld a patch. I think when i make another holding tank I will use 3/16" material for a little extra strength when it is empty. I have no fears about the material breaking due to the water pressure, but the 1/8" material does flex quite a bit when empty so it makes it more difficult to handle. Thicker material will make it more rigid and easier to move around.

So the good news is the warehouse is bone dry this morning so the tank is working out just fine. I also plugged in the Jebao pump yesterday for fun and am quite impressed with the control of the motor speed. Instead of having 3 specific motor speeds to choose from you can adjust it from 100% power all the way down to 65% power by 1% increments. It is a mag drive style pump so I am going to try and swap out the impeller for something more flow friendly in the future and see if I can make a low cost submersible axial flow pump. But that is for another time.

Resolved in the fact I was indeed correct. The proper channels and people were notified of the issues as well as report findings .
This will be my last and only post on the topic as the profi cult can turn ketchup into mustard and I havenít the precious moments to give a s#%t
Mine is/was trashed and material was used for purity or impurity analysis/stress testing . Rest is history . I decided to send the report to those most influential and leaders of industry instead of here as , Iím in no mood for keyboard cowboys questioning anything from a firm that had 4 different engineers in there perspective fields . I went through significant costs to clear the slop that was posted against me, and all a lot of you deserve is my great big smile nothing else .
Those who know is what matters . Take it for what it is, cause I just donít care
