      Yes you got that right, surgery to remove the beni on the tail fin, it's perfectly normal. Only possible when the fish is above 30 cm, Anything under 30cm will risk breaking the main tail bone. After the beni on the tail fin is removed the fish will regenerate a new clean tail fin in about a month time.

      I have nothing negative to say about the fish you produced.
      I'd leave the beni in the tail alone unless i felt the need to enter it in a show. it adds interest to the fish, and does not ruin it.

      I agree. Unless you plan on showing this fish, why do that to it?
