      Snow and Freezes in FL.

The other night just north of me there were flakes falling from the sky. Later this week they are calling for two nights with freezing temps and chances of flurries at least one of those nights. What a weather swing from 80’s the other week.

It'll get COLD every several decades....just like those hurricanes in years apart. Mightt get windy in 2018 ?...if so It should calm down for a stretch , as always

We just set a record low for central Ohio at minus 13. It broke the previous record of minus 5 set in 1896.

      Next week not looking good.

It's a toasty 39 in Tampa, up from the low 20s last night. We just are not made for this weather. I have furnace nose now in addition to the plugged up nose from round two of the bronchitis.

I hope all of you where it's REALLY cold can keep warm today. sounds like coffee, tea or hot chocolate are in order. I hope all your plants fared well.

Panic has set in for Charleston, SC tomorrow We are expecting 1-3” of snow with ice also. They are already shutting everything down for tomorrow. It will be a mess.

I can remember as a child growing up in Ohio, we always had more snow than they have now. My dad would have to shovel paths for us to get in from school. We would have very deep snows. Even when my DD's were young, we had deeper snows than they are having in our part of Ohio now. We would have to shovel paths to the school bus stop. That is right, school was not cancelled over snow because we had it so often every winter. Now just the threat of snow and schools are cancelled in Ohio. Once we had 23 inches of snow in Ohio and even had snow thunder. Schools were closed then.
I am glad back home isn't having the deep snows so often in the winter now. It would make it hard to get mom to a doctor if she needed one. Just isn't like it used to be that is for sure.

Here in NC whenever we have snow, usually never over 5 or 6 inches at most, schools, some work places and churches all stay closed!!! The governor calls a state of emergency! They are just not used to seeing snow here to much.

We are very lucky my grandkids go to school in the district that is still on Christmas break. They are very excited because the last time we had snow was 2010, and they were all too young to remember.

Well I hope they get enough to build a snowman. MY GD went back to school yesterday. But no snow is expected in Charlotte either. She would love it if it did snow too.

Here in Atlanta lows in the high teens and highs that may make it up to freezing some days. We will back to almost normal range by Sunday for the big game. Go DAWGS!!!!!

But southern Georgia, yes I said southern Georgia, all along the Florida border, the Atlantic coast and the South Carolina border have been declared emergency areas by the Governor due to their forecast for snow and ice. Some of those kids will have never seen snow in their yards before.

global warming is an inaccurate term. its now called Climate change. Either way, good luck with the snow. My area is supposed to get 8 inches but its NY so its nothing new. I can imagine the panic in the south. I remember last time FL got a frost and it decimated the citrus crop.
