      Omosako Showa

Been kind of slow over here on this forum so I took a quick pic of me 3yr old 23in Showa. Thoughts on sumi quality along with beni? It's got full kado girin which judges don't seem to like, what do you think? Yes it has some secondary beni right before dorsal. Just thought there's alot that this fish has good and bad that can be used for some discussion and education. Sorry for the poor pic but quality should be good enough to see the good and bad.

I 'll give my amateur comments to get discussion going. it is an interesting showa. The sumi looks high quality. I am concerned about the beni. It looks somewhat uneven and the area before the dorsal I don't know the history of whether this is receding or secondary, but it is a bit distracting. The skin looks decent and I personally like the kado. I'm guessing it shows up well and is enjoyable in the pond given the balance of color with the bright shiroji and the kado gin.

I agree the Beni looks hard on this one.
people like to vehemently defend their purchases and find it incredulous that anything could be better

This is the pic from when I first got the koi. This was June 2016. Changed a bit, learned a lot.

I love to see "before" and "after" pics. This doesn't even look like the same fish. It matured so nice. I would have never bought it from the before pic. Just goes to show you how much they can charge..

I think there should be a seperate thread called "before and after pics" so people can post their pics of the transformation. I find it fascinating to see.. Just my opinion.
Does anyone else agree with the thread idea? Its more about showing off your koi and its transformation, not about being judged.
