just have seen shiro with great sumi fade after time and often less sumi can come in better later.I'm not really that good at assessment but was trying to get something going.

Im not sure about the balance of motuguro but i think this one, male or female looks superb.

I like the body, love the pattern, like the skin, love the shiroji. The sumi is not the kind of sumi that I like, it looks like a gray-black as opposed to a blue-black. That being said, its not bad sumi by any means. I think this could be a nice fish if you put some size on it. 13'' for a nisai is on the small side. Also, the body line looks like it gets wonky midway down the dorsal fin. This is very common in shiro and can make them look like they have a fat belly and a small tail tube. So while i hope this fish puts on size, try to avoid putting a belly on it.

thank you all.. I know the vent tube goes left to right or right to left.. very clear.. so leaning female.. I hope to have her up to 20 next fall. I don't want to push her to fast. but we do have a early and long grow season here.. but I don't want her to out grow her self..
I have a second on a bit smaller than her that I hope does as well. but don't see her getting as big as this one will.. and my third little one I have might get bigger than this, its in a big big pond and wont see it till spring.. lol
      thank you all

from the first pic looks male. but the pic of it turned sideways looks to have a deeper female looking belly..13 inch is a little on the smaller side though i grew most my tosai to 13 inch this year and my largest reached 14.5 and is female. they were maybe 4-5 inches when I got them

I found sumi is very hard to predict. It changes due to growth, temperature etc. So far so good on this one
