Everypond pond gotta have a solid color koi. They eat and poop and lot and make a mess but in the end they are the most adorable and friendliness koi that would eat out of your hand or even kiss you. Enjoy

Here’s an update to mine. I think mine got a little bit bigger but I have not measure them, around 12”-16”. I think maybe 4 females out of 7.

Ok, I moved my two karashigoi tosai to the main pond today nearly 6 months to the day since I received them. The larger of the two (doitsu) is 18.5" long, the smaller (wagoi) is 15" long. I have no idea on gender. We'll see how they do in the main pond this summer.

Great job growing them both out thus far. At this pace you might have the doitsu up to 2ft by fall.

Yeah that's realistically as big as I could hope for and honestly not that big for a karashi. I think tosai that don't get sold until nisai/sansai have a better chance of getting big at a young age because they don't have months of QT, shipping, no feeding, etc. I wasn't in a contest or anything so ultimately it doesn't matter but you hear stories of some of these getting to 24 inches as tosai LOL.

Color looks pretty good to me, however it is likely to develop a shoulder hump as can be seen with the head shape from top view.

I've seen you reply this on a couple of threads. Do you realize that the hump is not considered a judging demerit but is rather, more a personal preference?
Great job on these Audioenvy, they are looking very good.

I'm not saying these fish are show quality--I'm just hoping at least the doitsu gets big. However, regarding shoulder hump: which if these do you think will end up with one?

That looks like is going to be a big and nice koi. Mine had to compete with 50 other koi so it’s not as big since moving outdoor. Name: 32306A58-0DF2-4469-86F6-AEF16E29A5A9.jpg

Ok, I figured I'd finish this thread with the one-year measurement. This is the bigger of the two fish (by several inches). It's now sold to make room for gosanke.
