high percentage of heat exchanger failures (pinholes) occur right above the burner if there is no corrosion occuring?

      https://www.scribd.com/document/2428...-corrosion-pdf

Hope these sources are credible enough

This is just the use of fear to sell products and services.

I'm not quite sure about the need for all this debate. Avoid copper if you can, don't plan on adding it, short term usage is likely okay. There are test kits to determine copper content in your pond. There are also medications that used to be widely recommended that contained copper.

My point is this, having people expound via links postulating opinions while having little personal practical usage experience is of little value to me.
As a forum user I would rather hear from those that have done something as opposed to from those that expound about possibilities that they they have not experienced. We must be heading into winter again.
Still learning as I go but y'all can call me Marilyn

the op wanted to know if it can be a problem? the answer is yes. as the article I posted says it is even good to check your source water for copper. not a debate but more just a discussion about the concern

and the other sources that dont sell exchangers are also trying to just scare us. at 20% water change a day maybe the copper is getting diluted more. not many do this large of a water change. other than you have had good luck what are your credible sources about them?

does anyone know how to detoxify copper if to much is present?

      sodium thio perhaps ....

I often wonder why i even care about sharing what i think. The big dogs are always right and best to back down to them.
