      19x7x5 puild question :concrete or block???

      Hi everyone . Im just wondering what way to go?

      Concrete: pros & cons

      Block: pros and cons.

      Note: I would like the fin ishing inside to be of fiberglass.

      The main factors for concrete are that it is monolithic, and generally stronger than block. The draw back for concrete is that it generally requires a pro to do the form work or gunnite/shotcrete, as amateurs are not sufficiently experienced to assure a good product. The main factor for block is the ease of use, does not require a pro to obtain a good product. Concrete does not require any type of liner, including fiberglass, and block must have some form of waterproofing to function as a pond.

      Good summary. Much depends on you being willing and able to some of the work or, have it all done by a contractor.

      Having a pool company do shotcrete or gunite is another option.

      I vote concrete and xypex and forget the fiberglass.

      How much would you guys think I should budget $$$ Canadian for just the shotcrete rebar and gravel?
