At least 3/4 of the way. What are you using as a shower head to feed the beast and how much flow do you plan to go with?

I filled mine up with K1 all the way near the top...
If you're following Ethan's design the suggested flow rate is about half that. I think I used about 1200 gph and it worked great.

      Looks good.
If it ends up being too much flow or if water surges out of the top exit pipe, you'll probably need to extend the bottom pipe for a longer dwell time or go to a 3" reducer

I bought this to use at the end of the hose to spray into the top of the PP.

I wouldn't use it. Too much back pressure (restrictive), Not needed.

I tried it with a spray head made from a pvc end cap, and found it does not produce any more foam. I ended up just running mine without the spray head.

Guys I need a 6 inch pvc cap for my PP. It's the thick wall pvc pipe used for sewage I believe. I tried to buy it from home depot but it was a little to small and wouldnt fit. Can you please tell me which cap I need. Thanks for any help.

Probably need a sch 40 cap. The one from HD was most likely for thin wall pipe.

Are you trying to keep the noise and splashing down? A piece of foam or matala matting did a great job on mine.

If you are using the green pipe and trying to find fittings, good luck. You should be able to find, at a good plumbing supply an adapter to change the green SDR type pipe to a Schedule 40 pipe and then find schedule 40 fittings.

Every HD, Lowes and Menards around me stocks both Schedule 40 and SDR 35 end caps for 4 and 6 inch pipe. Surprised you can't find any in your area. You mentioned thicker wall so it's probably Schedule 40 and a very easy item to find. Typically the stores separate the Schedule 40 and SDR 35 pipe and fittings so it might be in another area close by. SDR 35 pipe is slightly smaller outside diameter for the same sizes.

I used a skimmer basket in the top of mine it breaks up the water and catch stuff

It fits right in the pipe
