      its a boy! any good?

      this fish has been well fed lately and looks pretty good for a male. I'm not looking for a show quality koi but for a $25 tosai I feel it is a nice koi now

      I think you're being a bit sensitive here. I don't think it was "negative" as much as a bit of humor. This fish is developing nicely. At it's current size, it most likely won't get really big, but as it has improved this much, it would do well in a koi show in a smaller size group competition. As it's GinRin that's where it would compete and the GinRin looks quite good. I was just kinda kidding with you as well. I would think you could probably get about $200-$250 for it right now.

      Me too my three grow out tosai are in their heated tank until next summer

      Looks like a very nice fish Kevin. And this particular fish shows that occasionally the fish graders let one thru that is of more value than they have it priced at. Obviously the growth under your care added most of the value. Good work.

      The reason it was let go by the breeder is that it is a male fish and they don't covet them or place a high value on them.

      it has been a fun fish to watch. later down the road I will get some females. i either want all male or all female lol
