      Asagi? & Yamabuki? Mutts?

Found these two at a pond festival Saturday and went back to the same place this morning(Monday) and picked em up for only $15 I thought I had a Yamabuki and an Asagi but these are my first koi so what do I know, i just liked the looks of them and for the $$ I figured it would be a good start in my new pond. They are in a 116gal stock tank made into a quarantine tank. I will get some better pictures soon but here's a cell pic for now. Tell me how you really feel!

well I tried to post the pictures but it keeps saying its not a valid file but it is. it just a .JPG

I have read through this and tried to load the photos multiple different ways including how it states and I still get the same pop up saying "not a valid file" thank you though! It seems this is a typical forum format, everything works the same so I'm not sure what the problem is, I've never had this specific problem before. I took some new pictures with my camera when I got home so hopefully those will load properly. Thanks for helping out everyone, one way or another I'll get some pictures on here, even if I have to use a windows based computer...

A slightly better photo. Thanks for the ID, at least I was close! I'm kinda relieved they are pond grade, although I have an extensive fish husbandry background, all species have particulars and being a total noob to koi I needed a couple "learners" and now I wont feel as bad if anything happens to them!

You did okay for your first "koi" purchase especially for the price! The Yamabuki, though a doitsu fish still has nice hikari/metallic sheen overall and should be a decent one to watch grow up. the Asagi has a nice light blue background and although it shows no red at the moment that could come in time. This one could be just a bit above pond grade, but just enjoy watching them grow and learning how to take care of them.

Thanks! I went for the Asagi but got both, the Asagi has some darker orange coloring but very faint close to the pectoral fins, I will try for some better pictures when they are a bit more accustomed to the new home.

good idea. let them be and do not stress them out for pics.
