      Fake bamboo pipe

So I decided I have one pipe I wasn't going to hide coming out of my sand and gravel filter. Instead I would make it look like a bamboo spillway. If anyone is interested I will tell you how to do this as well it's pretty easy. If I had a better controlled heat source I could make it a lot nicer but not bad for 15 minutes work. I like it. A good way to disguise the pipe.

Looks sort of like my tpr's when I was heating the pipe to bend them... but I wasn't trying to make
them look like bamboo! I should have gone your route!

The funny thing is that if I made that, it would stick out like a sore thumb because it's so obviously different from all the other PVC pipe it's surrounded by...

Take PVC pipe, heat here and there, bending it slightly, here and there. Paint to look like bamboo... I think that's about it.

Also cut around it (score it) with a hacksaw and heat it till it catches fire a bit and it will give you swollen joints that mimic the look of a true price of bamboo...

it seems heat was used to to make the effect and not paint. I kinda got this effect when i was using a solder gun to play around with pvc

ok so i am not so good on the how too post but here goes.
1 take desired pipe length and run a coarse sand paper length wise to give it some good scratches. also if you want a spout like mine now is the time.
      2. mark out where you want the nodes or rings to be
      3. use the torch to get a desired base color
      4. run the torch around the nodes getting them good and hot this will also darken them a lot and kinda move them arpound a bit to make them swell "this is the step the will make the bends happen in small areas and make them look natural"
      5. use the torch to make your final colors to your liking. cook the ends that will be seen to a nice dark color as well.
