Yellow shiro, male body on a female Koi, but still a cool Kohaku in the pond.
What has the tail tube got to do with the sex of the fish? Is this some new way to diagnose sex over the net?lol

That is what the certificate said I believe
I meant vent tube. my phone corrects everything

How does the shiro look like in real?
I thought it looked like kind of lemon yellow in some parts?

That is simply a certificate verifying it's origin. I have one from Hoshikin as well and it says nothing about sex. If it did, it would be in English as others are. See the one from Dainichi on the right upper corner states "female". that means the breeder guarantees it's sex. Hoshikin does not.

The certificate says "mesu" in Japanese, which means female.

This is just not the case. Hoshikin wrote female in Katakana. The first character is 'me' and the second is 'su' which means female. I have been studying Japanese for a little over a year and the language has three types of written characters. Hiragana, Katakana and Kanji. I have learned all of the Hiragana characters and am now working on Katakana. Kanji is over 3,000 characters so I won't be doing those.
Of Course Russel, and me My self think this is a cool Koi, but now im curious about Your judgement...
Do you think its a different between breeders photo and the owners pictures?
Why is the skin excellent? How could two old Koi veterans like you and Mike judge body that different?
I prefer snow white shiro, this shiro (the off white, egg white) doesnt look fresh. But a PRO like you says that doesnt really matters.
Im pushing this because i want to learn why?
Whats on Your mind then you judgeing Koi.
Thanks.
I never mentioned the skin tone/color but it's not an issue. It could have to do with time of year, food being fed, etc. I don't know what happened to the post I made about the Japanese symbols but after re-looking at the two certs, I see line two matched the characters on the Dainichi cert where it also states "female" in English. Even breeders can make mistakes, even if they are guaranteeing the sex. I would think at this age, the body would appear to be shaped differently especially in the mid-section. While I have seen/do own a couple fish with a "male" type conformation, I'll still take a wait and see approach on future pics. I never said it was male for sure, simply agreed with Rain's thought about it.

Thanks Mike for Your answer.
Sometimes "Koi questions" can look look really stupid, "like who gives a ..." but this digging gives (at least me) more knowledge.
