      Orenji ogon?

My yellow koi has changed over the past couple years. It had very little orange when I got it at 4-5ish inches. Now over a foot long it has a lot of orange showing. Is it a low grade orenji ogon or a different type? Or just a mutt? Haha
Oh a more serious note, I would like to get more familiar with koi names.

Well, it started out as a Yamabuki Ogon. This is a great example of what can happen when we buy fish that look like what an adult should look like but not as a juvenile. This is a low grade fish of the variety and could possibly turn all orange which would actually be a good thing. When buying Yamabuki Ogon, it has been recommended to me from Japanese breeders to buy a very light "chiffon" color when young. As they grow/mature to 3-4 yrs old and older, they will darker somewhat and will maintain the single yellow color. the bright deep yellow color on young fish has a tendency to do exactly what this one has done/is doing.

Thank you @koiman1950 That is very informative. I have another 5-6" koi that started mostly bright white with a hint of pale yellow in a couple spots. A few months later now and it is already showing more really pale yellow and less white. My husband really wants a platinum ogon, but this one is looking like maybe just a slightly better quality yamabuki ogon?
I thought maybe it was just a low quality platinum ogon.

Hard to tell but it sounds like a lemon Hariwake with both yellow and white metallic color.

I haven't been able to get a very good reticent picture. For some reason even on cloudy days or when the sun is going down my phone over exposes the picture and it looks more yellow then it is when it's deeper in the water.

It's the little guy. I tried cropping the picture, but the website wouldn't let me use the picture then.
