      Bountiful Crop

      Gonna be a good year for turmeric! The plants are getting huge and the tubers are already making. We grew varieties of the edible Curcuma longa this year. Hawaiian Red, Indira Yellow and BKK ( twice the curcumin ) and then also a bunch of the white turmeric C. mangga

      Luckily, the Florida summers are rainy enough, we rarely have to water....actually the last couple weeks, I have been worried they are getting too wet. By the time the dry season arrives in Oct/Nov, the gingers are working on going dormant. The pots we use are 15 and 25 gal and there are somewhere near 1,000 of them...so watering would be problematic. < g >
