Well, maybe they are not giants like the redwoods, but the basjoo banana plants are again huge this year!

Wow, looks like a jungle
I saw them yesterday. They are massive!
Thanks everyone.
Cindy- They are tropical looking!
Darlene- we will be taking a machete and cutting them down to the ground before much longer to get them mulched for the winter. I will probably dig several up and pot them to sell next summer as they are too crowded.
rcmike- I really enjoyed meeting you and your family yesterday (Saturday). I look forward to our getting together again. It is always great to meet new ponders!
We enjoyed meeting you also. I may get some of those banana trees sometime to put around the pond. Do you think the roots would try to grow into the liner if put too close?
Frank, I'd love to buy one from you next year. I have purchased two bananas that were supposed to banjo, from two different sellers and I am pretty sure neither is banjo as they both had red stripes! Grrrrr! I guess I will need to over winter it indoors!
Corsetière, I will have them next year as I will have to dig up some this fall as they have gotten so thick. Just notify me when you are ready. Thanks!
I'd be interested in some as well.
Sad, but these will be cut down before much longer. I noticed today that there are more plants that have sprouted up in the last few weeks, so looks like there will be even more to dig up to pot.
Yeah, I noticed it felt like fall today. It won't be long.
