That Roto hammer looks awesome and to be able to use it one handed is nice. I was going to use carpet at first too but found nonwoven geotextile fabric on Amazon for a cheap price. Ill have to find the link but I purchased about 1000 sq ft for just under $100. Its pretty thick also.

Do you have a place to dump all the dirt or will you plan to use it to build for waterfall? Here, it costs ~$105/ton to dump it as yard waste . You would go broke to dump all that dirt .. What I did was I posted on Craigslist for free dirt and I was happy to deliver it for free. Luckily, a few people needed it and I did not have to spend any money for dumping it. You have a lot of dirt there (~7400 gallon = 37 solid yards, which is probably close to 50 loose yards?). You can go rent a big truck and dump it 

yes i have a friend with 7 acres i can dump it. the existing pond was 3800 and all below ground. new pond will be raised 2 and half feet.

i also had a 500 gallon filter pit that will be filled in.

i just started thinking about maybe doing a viewing window also.

      Sorry, I'm just seeing this.

My pond is 10x25' and 5-7' deep, River Flow Design. All the water exits the 2 BD's at 7' end. All the water returns to the 5' end. The water goes from the BD and skimmers>RDF>pumps and then to a Birdman 4 tier shower with 650lbs. of feather rock. This water splits, going to the waterfall and TPR's.

It's not out of the ordinary at all. The design came from Japan. I got the info from Birdman. There are quite a few built this way. It pushes all the dirt towards the bottom drains.

perhaps i worded that wrong sandy. it is just different than a lot of builds. doing tile work and shower pans it makes sense though. decisions, decisions lol

I wanted to do some more work, but my stomach is not feeling so good today.

Sorry, just saw this. I am afraid I won't have time to do it so I can't give you a bid. I am in the process of demolishing concrete tanks at PSKoi in preparations for the move to Indiana. We are leaving next week to look at property. I have a concrete pond build scheduled for the end of August as well.
people like to vehemently defend their purchases and find it incredulous that anything could be better

giving away 6 koi for free and breaking down my 1500 gallon intex. going to rent a tractor next weekend hopefully and get started on this. looks like my budget is leaning towards a liner pond for now. been a little rough at work lately so don't want to put to much $ into this for now. I have considered moving and cutting down my cost but not sure

Been awhile. Looking to do polyrea coating and will get a quote next weekend at the koi show. Hopefully Paul is feeling extra nice.

16x10x6. 7200 gallons . I'll do all the cinder block for the walls since i have clay soil and will also slope the floor to the bds. Geotextile over it and spray.

I would go 10,000 gallons but going to build a 1400 gallon tank with liner for grow out koi. Might do the 1400 gallon first so i can move the intex pool. Grow out tank will have the blue eco and big pond the 65/40 and 2 bd.

To me polyrea or fiberglass is better than other methods. Sure xypex works and Seems to be fine. If I can afford poly then cool and I'll go this route. Or i add cost of xypex ln walls of cinder block. And also have another coat of xypex.. to me it is either poly or fiberglass. Otherwise ill do a liner again to cut costs

I'm getting tax money back $5,000 and my mortgage company offered me $15,000 loan as my house is worth $495,000 and loan is $195,000. They love me now and my equity. Paid 205,000 for it.

My payment is $1350 with insurance. Love 2008 in a way..
