      New Walmart babies

Lost 6 fish to a predator lately. Lost one more in a net accident. And then got some shipped from friends and one died suddenly the next day. Went hunting for new fish at the local crappy Walmart, here are two I found. Lorenzo is the first fish and the second is Crescendo. Wish me luck with them. They are in quarantine.

They are very pretty Shubunkins. They make great outdoor pond fish. I have lot's that are around 14 inches long and are 16 years old.

Thanks! But actually, they are not Shubunkins. They are both double tailed fancy types which of course is all I keep except Asteroid. I call them fantails but I might have happened upon two tiny Watonai.

Oh I see now. I thought the first two pics were of two different fish. From the camera angle, I thought I was seeing a single tail and I thought they looked like Shubunkins.

I can see in the last two fish pics, that the fish have double tails.

Yup. They are either fantails or low quality Watonai. Love them either way.

Lucky find. Our Walmart hasn't carried fish for years! I haven't seen as nice as fish as you got even at the Petco or Petsmart locally, though I haven't been in them recently.

The Walmart fish here are usually better than the PetSmart or Petco fish. The health of the fish tanks is usually just as bad and the quality of the fish seems better at Walmart. I have 3 PetSmart fish but most are from Walmart.

One of my Walmart babies won the first place in his variety at the show last year. Sometimes you just need an eye I guess.
