For possible educational purposes, I'd like to point out the development of the Tancho Sanke and the Sanke. If you look at the amount of underlying sumi in the two pics date 10/16 and 12/16 versus the large/latest pic, you can see how much of that underlying sumi has been covered, and most likely will never appear/surface. This is usually due to the thickening of the epidermal layers of skin that are white based color and displays more clearly as it develops. So, for those that have been told to "hope" for sumi, when it is underlying like this, you get a better idea of what Sanke Sumi can do. Showas can be a bit different, but in many cases, similar to this. So, watch your fish this year as they develop from tosai to Nisai and see how your specific fish develop. It will help you with purchases in the future.
