male or female? Thanks in advance

Judging from the prominent first ray of the fins and the fins' shape and size relative to its body, I am 90% sure this is a male.
Thanks DVO.
You don't say how old or how large the fish is, so it is not possible to tell for sure. If it is under about 3 years, it is not mature enough to be sure, but based on the long streamlined body, I would guess male. As a young lady at the local garden center told me a long time ago, males have broad shoulders and females have broad ..... The ovaries that carry the eggs are back somewhat and tend to distort the smooth lines of the male on the female.

Keep your words sweet. You never know when you may have to eat them.

Around two years old, male Koi will develop small white growths, known as tubercules, that are easy to feel as gritty sandpaper on the gill plates and leading edge of the pectoral fins.
Thank you gentlemen. Next time i'll make sure to be more specific, but this guy is 16" almost 2yr old. Now I need to add some female soon or they'll make me have to install a transgender bottom drain toilet
Too funny. Careful with politics and fish, you don't know where it can lead but if you ask me it will just end up in the toilet
Lol
