With an extremely mild winter many plants got an early start. I have hydrangeas leafed out, Miss Kims lilacs in full bud, Lilies 6-8" tall, Hosta and elephant ear out of the ground, clematis loaded w/ buds and what wisteria survived a mild frost over a week ago is in bloom now.
Friday and Saturday (beautiful and warm) I spent the day hauling mulch, mowing lawn, cleaning pond filters and covering plants in an attempt to save them from this..... Snow and below freezing night temps until at least Thursday PM. With a couple nights hitting the upper 20's I'm not sure if my efforts in covering will save all of them but I had to try, will know friday when they all get uncovered.
