      My search for Panda Orandas

I love orandas and have been looking for some good ones for a while.

I found some that apparently come out of the same spawn listed as triclor orandas but did not like the bronze shading that appears on most of them and also the fact that most loose the black color.

I knew that Thailand and China have been developing new varieties. I just purchased these 3.
Their black color seems to be very deep so I hope they will not loose color.

I got them on Ebay from deeliciousee. Cost more than most would probably want to pay for a goldfish, but I justified to myself they are possible breeders.

It is really difficult around here to get any nice orandas. The best one I ever bought locally was purchased as a blue. It was raised in several of my ponds outside and he got huge with a head as big as my fist and his color got a very dark sort of between a dark charcoal gray to navy blue color.

I would love to have a pond full of orandas but rarely find ones that I like locally.

I am going to semi-retire in April and plan to devote more time to my ponds. I would like to breed orandas, ryukins, and butterfly koi. My best butterfly koi were raised here but are getting old now.

These are the Panda orandas that I typically see offered for sale that frequently are reported to loose their black color.

      To the original poster,
I am curious to see how the panda oranda's are doing. Are they still black and white?

Pretty fish! Judging by the size of them, they may lose the black too. Hope not! Hope the streaking is better too.

This is my two year old telescope. His black is still holding but he will probably lose more of it. Hopefully he doesn't go all orange.
