      Honey, we're finally home!!!

I have to give props to Bill, William Tullis! He was so easy to work with and helped me tremendously. The koi were packed extremely well. Because it was what was best for the koi, he got up at 2:00 a.m. to pack and get them to the airport before going to work. That's dedication and caring about the koi!

I finally got my girls home tonight. They are in great shape and even better in person than they were in the vids.

We didn't get home from the airport until 8:10 p.m. so the pics were taken in the dark, right out of the bag. The Karashigoi is a little stressed with some red veining but the other 3 are perfect. The whites are a little yellow right now from stress of shipping but in a couple of days, they'll be blindingly white.

The Karshigoi was so calm, it was amazing! The Shiro Utsuri was freaking out. LOL

They're all tucked into bed for the night. I'll start feeding them in the morning.

      Konishi Karashigoi 20"
      Omosako Shiro Utsuri 19"
Maruesi Asagi 17.5" You can't see the Beni in the pic but there's a good bit.
Snow Asagi (I don't know the breeder) 13"

I'm a happy girl! Finally starting to get my pond stocked again after the flood.

Very cool!! That is the only other snow flake Ive seen in the states. I know they are coming out more and more as years pass. Where did these koi come from (state)? My snowflake came from Ikarashi koi I have had her for year and a half. She developed little shimmy from the harder water we have in the states but has been growing well. Name: IMG_4311.jpg

She came from Bill Tullis in Seattle. I'm saying she as wishful thinking. He said it's a male but I didn't have time to look last night and it's only 13" so there's a chance! How big is yours now?

I really like the gin rin asagi. I never heard them called snow asagi before, is that just a name given to gin rin asagi or is there more to it? I had a little gin rin asagi before I sold all my koi last year and I really loved it. I have not seen any since but would love to find another now that I'm restocking. I like the gin rin version of asagi a lot better than than the standards, the gin rin adds so much imo. Nice pickup, they all look very nice.

It's a Snow Asagi, not GinRin. Asagi are blue with Beni. This koi will stay snow white with Beni.

This is incorrect, this Asagi is 100% Gin Rin, it says GR on the certificate. It is a Gin Rin Yuki Asagi and the difference between this, and a normal Asagi is that it has a white ground.

Sandy... Very nice Yuki Asagi. One of my favorite varieties. We were very happy in the Portland area this year because our two main dealers brought about 4 or 5 of them back. I was lucky enough to get one of them too! Mine is on the far right in the middle and bottom at the end of the video. I hope your new koi bring you lots of joy!

The funny thing about these Yuki Asagi is that there is a rumor being spread, by a few dealers, that these are actually rare and there for worth a lot. The first time I remember seeing a 'white' Asagi was at Otsuka 10 years ago. Back then they were considered to be more of a 'failed' Asagi and were less expensive. I remember asking Otsuka about one of them and the look on his face spoke volumes.

I happen to think these are very nice but don't fall prey to spending more on them. Sometimes a breeders failure can become an attractive addition to any pond.

Russ, thank you for straightening this out. I guess I didn't state it right, as usual. The koi is GinRin but it's not a GinRin Asagi as in the typical blue Asagi. That's what I was trying to get across but I don't always explain myself correctly.

The certificate is not my koi. I don't have a certificate on it.

So are you saying that the term "Snow Asagi" is incorrect? That's how it was sold to me. Is Yuki the correct term?

I saw that bowl of Koi. Great choice! I've never seen them until this bowl and mine. I just hope it doesn't get messy and it's a female. Mine is also Ikarashi. Did you get yours from Wes?

I know it wasn't your certificate but the certificate has the same type of Koi on it. 'Yuki' is the Japanese word for snow so, if you wanted to translate it, you call it a Snow Asagi but the Japanese will call it a Yuki Asagi.

No, I got mine from Tony at All Japan Koi. He is near portland too. Bill also gets fish from him. I have about 6 show koi from Wes and a couple pets. COTS koi is one of my favorite places to go looking for koi.

I think Bill T. posted the video on KONA. Tonys place is pretty much a local secret. He is a really great guy. The best way to contact him is through facebook. He has 2 different profiles, either of them work. All japan koi does not have a working website right now (it's still being made). I think bills karashigoi and chagoi growout are from Tony, however, I am not 100% sure.
