      Ryukin Question?

I did a complete water change on my Ryukins yesterday and put them in the garage. They seemed
very happy. My DD said she went in to turn off the lights and they were swimming everywhere
Well, this a.m. I found lots of foam I thought they were too small to spawn, and at this time of year?
they are not a year old yet..is this normal?
      Thanks for any input..

I have found that goldfish spawn at any age, any time, any where. The fact that you did a big water change almost guaranteed it!

They can't stand pristine water, have to screw it up fast.

Do you see any eggs? If not start wondering about other possibilities.

      Was the filter established?

Yes, the filter was established. I just moved the entire unit inside the garage. Just did a major water change
so I could lift it inside onto pallets. I checked the ammonia and it was 0..did another water change yesterday..I don't see any eggs, but at 70 degrees how long would it take? They are only 6 months old, so not sure if the eggs would be viable. Also I have 11 of them in 100 gallons, so if there were any eggs they would eat them ? Checked the ammonia today and still good..Sorry the pictures are sideways and blurry, but you can see some of the set. I have the aerator and heater in the tub also.

If they spawned you'll be able to find white infertile eggs here and there in crevices and corners, they never get them all.

Did you clean the filter before you moved it?

Yes, David. I did almost 100% water change and cleaned the filter prior to bringing them inside. I clean the filter weekly and do a 30% water change normally. They seem to have grown since I brought them inside or it is "fishful" thinking. They all look healthy and come when I
call them. I'm beginning to love them more than my koi (can't believe I said that) but they have such personality. Love holding them in my hand.
