Mushrooms EVERYwhere in my yard, why?

This morning there are mushrooms everywhere in my plant beds, some in the grass but not as many. We spent 2 months without a drop of rain and mid 90+ day temps, the last 3 days weve had rain each night and 100% humditity all day. Is the the cause of my mushroom bloom, should I be concerned about them?

      Thanks Deb

No need for concern. Most of the mushroom is underground and what you see are the fruiting bodies that emerge when conditions are right...and moist and humid are the right condition. Mostly they feed by breaking down organic substances in the soil.

Deb I have mushrooms everywhere too. Most are in the wooded part of my backyard. I have them as small as a dime to up to dinner plate size. Some are red, yellow, brown, orange, white, even black. All kinds of shapes. I love them.

Usually I only see a scattered few of them and they are all this kind, I was very surprised to see so many at once. There had to be thousands of them in all the plant beds that are covered with double hammered mulch. After 2 months without it I guess they were as happy to see the rain as I was.
